Omega-6 vs. Omega-3

Omega-6 and Omega-3 are ‘essential’ fatty acids, which means you have to get them from food because your body doesn’t produce them. Both are beneficial in the proper amount, and for thousands of years our diet provided a healthy balance. However, most factory-farmed chickens have an Omega 6:3 ratio of 30:1, which contributes to inflammation and chronic health issues like heart disease, obesity and more. That’s because commercial chicken feed is primarily soy and corn, which has an Omega 6:3 ratio of 50:1. So the old axion ‘you are what you eat’ applies to animals too. Our free-range chicken has Omega 6:3 ratio of less than 2:1, which makes it extremely healthy and nutritious.
